OUR COVID-19 APPROVED PLAN for your safety

 

All restrictions have currently been lifted but we encourage the wiping down of everything you touch in the gym with our clothes and cleaning products provided.

 

Please stay away from the gyms if you are not feeling well or show any signs of Covid-19 or flu.

 

 

Fitness Industry will be classed as an essential business from 17th December 2021.

 

As the guidelines change we will update this page.  But vaccinated and unvaccinated are allowed to use the facilities.

We would still appreciate your digital evidence of vaccination if possible, in case of future changes.

Management attend regular meetings with Fitness Australia for any updates required.  We are also governed by Qld Health and Somerset Regional Council relating to new practices  

 

Dear valued members, parents, caregivers and visitors

Somerset Health and Fitness Pty Ltd COVID-19 update

We have always prided ourselves with the strictest workplace health and safety and hygiene control at both our Centres.

We have been and will continue to monitor the situation relating to COVID-19 and always follow advice from the Australian Government, Somerset Regional Council, Fitness Australia and Queensland Health to ensure that we are adhering to the recommended guidelines for the health and safety in everything we offer.

Centre activities, classes and programs

We would like to assure our members and their guests of the following: –

  • We offer hand sanitiser, tissues and medical-grade disinfectant spray for surfaces
  • That our Centres are cleaned several times daily is hospital grade cleaning products and all surfaces are wiped after use.
  • Certain activities will not be returning until a later, safe date such as netball, hot yoga, kid’s activities. Morning yoga will be conducted on the court area.
  • We ask any members going interstate or overseas to inform us about their travel and method – this will be documented.
  • Staff have the right to ask someone who is displaying signs of Covid-19, to leave the premises, and seek medical clearance (but we hope people will stay away if they have any signs)

What we are asking YOU to do!

  1. Sanitise or wash your hands upon entering the building
  2. Grab yourself one of the wipes at many stations around the building and wipes everything you touch (hospital grade disinfectant provided) This means handles, weights, equipment, benches
  3. Bring your own water bottle – we will not be providing cups
  4. Bring your own towel and yoga mat – we will not be providing either
  5. Sign in AND out with time and members must also scan in as well
  6. Practice social distancing during classes, gym and socialising.
  7. Adhere to all other gym rule displayed

We are insisting that everyone must practice good hygiene to protect against infection and prevent the virus from spreading (or a second wave) and we encourage you to follow all these new rules.

Please practice good hygiene – this includes:

  • Washing your hands often with soap and water
  • Using alcohol-based hand sanitisers
  • Covering your coughs and sneezes with your elbow or tissue and disposing of tissues properly
  • We ask that you refrain from bodily contact whilst at the Centres including shaking hands, hugs.
  • Staying at home if you are showing any signs of Covid-19 or feeling unwell.

Additional information

Symptoms of Covid-19include fever, coughing, sore throat, fatigue, and shortness of breath.  Please keep away from the Centres if you have these symptoms and ring your GP (do not enter into the building).

If you have serious symptoms such as difficulty breathing, call 000 for urgent medical help.
