Jayne McKenzie – Director/Owner

Owner/Director of Somerset Health and Fitness Pty. Ltd.  Jayne has been in the fitness/health industry for over 40 years.  Travelling throughout Europe and Japan teaching for many years and gaining much knowledge about the industry. Jayne loves teaching yoga also formatting challenges for members each month.   Jayne holds a Diploma in Fitness, Cert IV as a personal training, 200 hr yoga teaching plus many other add on qualifications.  She bring with her a vast amount of experience as a Case Manager/Counselor for Victims of Crime and also 11 years as Senior Disability Officer and Medical Certificate Incapacity Officer with Centrelink.  Jayne is passionate about her voluntary work in Somerset.  Jayne is fully registered with Fitness Australia as a Business and an individual.  Jayne’s drive saw these two rural gym being the first to complete Fitness Australia lengthy accreditation and audit in 2020.

 

Trish Webster – Gym Instructor – Trainer

Trish’s mum Pam worked for Jayne when Jayne owned the Kilcoy Squash and Fitness Club in the 90’s.  Now Trish is following in Mum’s footsteps.  Trish brings her own unique style of teaching to both Centres.  Her classes range from Lite Pace to Metafit to Circuit.   Trish will be launching NEW OLD FASHIONED AEROBICS CLASS in February (see Feb timetable)

Trish is very highly qualified with Diploma of Nutrition and Dietetics for Personal Trainers, Cert IV in Fitness, Thump Boxing, Metafit and many coaching and athletic certificates.

Trish is now registered as an Instructor with Fitness Australia which is highly regarded in the Industry.

 

Wendy Smith – Gym Instructor – Trainer

Wendy and I have worked together forever.  She is the person I bounce ideas off mostly due her diverse experience in the fitness industry.   Wendy has Cert III in Fitness but also have a wealth of other add-on qualifications including coaching, Metafit, Cycle and Boxing.   Wendy has a fast moving high pace moving attitude towards her classes and an energy level I would love to possess.  Although we do not have a pool Wendy has many qualifications in Life Guard, Learn to Swim and other pool related qualifications.

Wendy’s goal for 2021 is to complete Pilate teaching and also Cycle II certification.

Therese Ferris – Gym Instructor – Trainer

Therese is a super versatile Instructor.  She teaches everything from our Cycle to Lite Pace to Super Lite Pace.  Her Super Lite Pace has a huge following and this is due to her dedication to our seniors or members needing a slower pace.  Therese is a Cert IV Fitness and Personal Trainer Instructor with many add on qualifications.

 

Kade Bulow – NEW INSTRUCTOR

Dugald Stratchan – Instructor

He has completed his Cert IV in Fitness via us as an apprentice.  Dugald has many add on qualifications in coaching and athletics.  Dugald also has qualifications in Life Guard and Aqua Aerobic Teaching.

Andrew Roger – Gym Instructor – Trainer

Andrew is on his final year of Exercise Physiology.  Sadly this is on hold at present due to Covid-19 restriction.  Andrew holds many qualifications in all aspects of fitness, Life coaching, coaching, strength and conditioning as well as Cert IV in Fitness and Personal Training.  Andrew does voluntary work for us in order to gain experience and hours in the industry.

Lee Mellors – Receptionist 

Lee is our part time receptionist and also works reproducing the much photocopying we get through.  He is also on hand more at present to hep with extra sanitisation needed due to Covid-19 safety.

Laurence McKenzie – Maintenance 

Laurence McKenzie assist with our Soccer Coaching when possible.  He brings with him over 25 years of soccer coaching and playing experience.  ‘Macca’ also helps with our building maintenance and cleaning.
