At Somerset Health and Fitness we believe in offering as much as we possibly can for as many ranges of ability as possible. Jayne, Wendy, Therese, Kade, Dugald, Andrew, Peggy and Trish spend a great deal of time researching and designing our class timetables for our members. These timetables stay in place for a 3 month period and are changed 1st Sept, Dec, March and June. We love to hear your feedback and requests.

Group Fitness is a multi-level class for members who have moderate fitness. It can be a combination of circuit, weights, cardio and boot camp type exercises.
Boxing (on hold at present) is based on cardio fat burning exercises. There is NO contact. Most of the class you will work in pairs. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have a partner, we will pair you with someone of similar fitness and ability. Boxing is for all levels but it’s a challenging class with upper body and cardio.
Lite Pace Circuit is designed for beginners or members who have challenging medical or physical conditions. It is suitable for beginners or mature age members. It is still a great effective workout for toning and fitness. A combination of weights, cardio and floor work – all low or no impact.
Super Lite Pace is a very popular class for our seniors but anyone can attend. It can be very multi-levelled depending on YOU. The instructor will use low impact moves at a lighter pace.
Cycle is a great low impact workout on a specially designed spin bike. We have 14 bikes in a class setting. Our classes are 30 minutes of pure fitness and fat burner. Ask us for our monthly CYCLE timetable
Metafit is a registered fitness class. Working with your own body weights in a series of exercises, it is great for fitness and boosting your metabolic rate. All levels can participate and you choose your level of involvement.
Pump/Step/Cycle Combo is a combination of stepping onto a platform in a series of coordinated routines to music. The other part of the class is pumping type exercises with either a barbell or dumbbell for amazing muscle tone. Stepping does require a certain level of coordination but with practice the routines do get easier. Cycle is all low impact for all levels.
Yoga is great for flexibility and developing long and leaner muscles. Great focus is placed on the breathing with the movement. Yoga exercises every single muscle in the body in a no impact class. All yoga classes are taught as multi-level
Yoga Therapy is mostly mat work and is based on yoga postures but more emphasis is placed on holding the postures longer and deeper. Aids are used such a blocks, cushions and straps to get deeper into the stretch. Great for rehabilitation
Bum Tum and Thigh focuses on core and lower body strength and toning. It is mostly done on the floor and sometimes with light weights. Any level of fitness can participate.
Circuit Weights/Group Fitness uses either the gym or classroom in a series of weight exercises focusing on all the body parts. This is also suitable for all levels.
